Postdoc in the Dantas Lab, looking at the gut-brain-axis
Washington University in St. Louis
St. Louis, MO
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Dantas Lab at Washington University in St. Louis, where I investigate the gut-brain axis and its implications for health and disease.
My research focuses on understanding the complex interactions between the microbiome and neurological systems. Currently, I am leveraging long-read sequencing approaches to interrogate the phylogenomics and mobilome of multidrug resistant organisms in patients and community-dwellers in Pakistan.
I completed my PhD in Microbiology at the University of Florida (2018-2022) under the mentorship of Dr. Tony Romeo, where I examined post-transcriptional regulation of acid stress survival in E. coli. Prior to that, I earned my BS in Cellular & Molecular Biology and Computer Science from Tulane University (2013-2017), with a minor in Chemistry.
My work combines computational and experimental approaches to understand microbial communities and their impact on human health.
